The WNBA-Charlotte Chapter is proud and delighted to support OurBridge for Kids and help with their literacy needs!
OurBridge for Kids is a Charlotte, NC based not-for-profit that provides after-school and summer programs to refugee and immigrant children and their families, as they acculturate to life in the United States. Students participate in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) projects, and engage in a culturally relevant curriculum that emphasizes experiential learning. They also receive one-on-one daily English literacy tutoring in order to accelerate acquisition of the English language.
Book donations will provide OurBridge elementary students with hundreds of chances to fall in love with reading!
**Come by Park Road Books (4139 Park Rd.) on Sunday, February 23rd from 1:00- to 3:00pm where we will be set up to collect new and used books for the organization. Chat with volunteers and staff of OurBridge and the WNBA-Charlotte, and get book and event information from both organizations!
