WNBA members and the public are invited to WNBA-Charlotte’s Centennial program highlighting the contributions of our own bookwomen here in North and South Carolina:  Carolinas Women Leaders in the World of Books.

* Wanda Jewell, Executive Director of the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance for 26+ years


* Emoke B’Racz, Owner of Malaprop’s Bookstore/Café in Asheville for 34+ years

* Ina Stern,  recently retired Associate Publisher at Algonquin Books, with 25+ years at Algonquin and more in the book industry

* Betsy Teter, Executive Director at Hub City Press, Hub City Writers Project, and Hub City Bookshop for 21+ years

Our speakers’ years of experience in the book industry; their work with many Carolinas and Southern writers, books, bookstores, publishers, organizations, and readers; and their individual perspectives and insights into the changes in the business will contribute to a fascinating and highly entertaining program.

WNBA-Charlotte will publicize and promote this event vigorously through our Charlotte and national WNBA websites and social media, outreach to groups with similar interests, press releases to local media and book industry media, etc. We hope to be able to videotape the program, too, so that we can make it available through our Charlotte and national WNBA websites and social media.
